Launched in 2013, the MAGNA Excellence Program is designed to support and extend high-achieving students. MAGNA, meaning GREAT in Latin, aligns with our school motto, Scale Great Heights, and reflects our commitment to academic excellence.
MAGNA Academic classes operate across Years 7-9 in the four core subjects:
English
Mathematics
Humanities
Science
These classes follow the National Curriculum but offer enhanced opportunities for academic challenge and extension.
MAGNA Academic Expectations
To remain in the program, students must:
Maintain high academic standards in core and elective subjects.
Engage in State and National competitions to extend their learning.
Participate in extension activities and take on academic challenges beyond the standard curriculum.
Regular reviews ensure that students continue to meet the MAGNA Excellence standard. If a student is unable to maintain the criteria, they may be withdrawn from the program.
