Local Catchment Area – Where Our Students Come From
Springfield Central State High School operates under an equidistant catchment area, meaning our primary intake of students comes from a defined geographical boundary. This ensures we can support local families and maintain our high standard of education for those within our community.

Applying from Outside the Catchment? Here’s What You Need to Know!
If you live outside the catchment area but wish to enrol at Springfield Central SHS, your application will be placed on a waiting list and considered in order of receipt.
Priority for Out-of-Catchment Applications:
Programs of Excellence – Students applying for one of our specialist Programs of Excellence may be considered for out-of-catchment enrolment, provided they meet the program’s entry requirements and places are still available.
General Out-of-Catchment Enrolments – If space permits, other out-of-catchment applications will be assessed, but priority is given to in-catchment students.
⚠️ Important: The school must ensure sufficient capacity remains for students living within the catchment before offering places to out-of-catchment applicants.
