Student Leadership & Representation

  • Student Representative Council (SRC) –  the SRC organises in-school events, awareness days, fundraising initiatives and represents student voices.
  • House Captains & Student Leaders – Drive school spirit, coordinate house events, and lead initiatives like Springer Points competitions.​

Academ​ic Awards & Partnerships

  • Student of the Year Excellence Awards – Awarded to outstanding students in each year level, sponsored by the P&C.
  • Learning Enrichment Awards – Recognising students who demonstrate resilience and commitment to their education.
  • Community Partnerships – Including collaborations with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, and alumni-run organisations like The Studio.

Annual Hig​​hlights

  • Creative Generation – State Schools Onstage – Our students shine in this prestigious statewide production, with representation in Massed Dance, Orchestra, Musical Theatre, Stage Crew, and Featured Vocalist performances.
  • Multicultural Community Concert – Over 300 students proudly showcase their cultural heritage through music, dance, and traditional dress in one of our most celebrated events of the year.
  • School Productions & Showcases – Including instrumental music concerts, drama performances, and dance showcases.

Music & Performing Arts Pro​​grams

Springfield Central SHS offers a dynamic and engaging performing arts program, providing students with opportunities to develop their talents and perform at various school and community events.

  • Instrumental Music – Students receive specialised music instruction and perform in school ensembles.
  • Orchestra – A full instrumental ensemble for students passionate about orchestral music.
  • Brass & String Ensembles – Dedicated groups for brass and string musicians to refine their skills and perform.
  • Dance Troupes – For students interested in contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop dance, with opportunities to perform in competitions and school showcases.
  • School Musicals – A highlight of the performing arts calendar, where students can showcase their talents in acting, singing, and stage production.

🏆 Sports & Physical Activities​​​

Springfield Central SHS is committed to developing students’ sporting potential through our Sports Academy. The Academy provides structured training, skill development, and opportunities for students to excel in their chosen sports.

  • Volleyball Academy – Providing students with professional coaching and competition pathways to develop their skills in volleyball.
  • AFL Academy – A specialised program for students passionate about Australian Rules Football, combining high-level coaching with strength and conditioning.
  • Soccer Academy – Designed for students who want to refine their soccer skills through dedicated training sessions, tactical development, and competitive gameplay.
  • Basketball Academy – Focused on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies for students competing at school and representative levels.
  • Other Competitive Sports – Students also have opportunities to represent the school in rugby, netball, athletics, swimming, and cross country through inter-school and regional competitions.
  • District, Regional & State Representation – Students who excel at school-level events have the opportunity to compete at higher levels, representing the school at district, regional, and state championships.​

  • Cross Country – An annual endurance event testing students’ fitness and perseverance.

  • P&C & School Events Support – Students can gain experience in event planning and community leadership by assisting with major events like the Annual Awards Programs and the Muticultural Concert.
  • Peer Mentoring & Tutoring – Senior students have the opportunity to mentor younger students academically and socially.
