Getting to and from Springfield Central SHS – Your Guide to Safe & Easy Travel!
At Springfield Central State High, we want to make sure every student gets to and from school safely, easily, and efficiently. Whether you’re walking, riding, catching a bus, or getting dropped off, here’s everything you need to know about transport options at SCSHS!
Private Transport – Drop-Off & Pick-Up Zones
Smooth Drop-Off & Pick-Up:
Parents can drop students off at the drive-through zone at the bottom of Parkland Drive for a quick and easy arrival.
The front of B Block drop-off zone is ONLY for students with disabilities who have made prior arrangements with the school.
If using the drop-off zone, parents must stay in their vehicle at all times.
Need to park? There’s a school car park opposite the main school gate where parking is permitted.
Walking – Safe Routes for Our Springers!
Walking to School? Stay Safe!
Always use designated footpaths and traffic crossings to keep your journey safe.
Students must exit the school using Gates 2 or 6.
Other gates are for authorised school vehicles only – no pedestrian access allowed.
Bikes, Scooters & Skateboards – Ride Smart!
If you’re riding, follow these simple steps:
Wear your helmet – safety first!
Bikes, scooters, and skateboards must be stored inside the secure bicycle enclosure near E Block.
Riders must enter via Gate 1, then WALK their bikes/scooters/skateboards to the enclosure.
Lock it up! Make sure your ride is secured inside the enclosure.
The enclosure is locked after the first bell and reopened just before 3pm.
No riding inside the school grounds – for everyone’s safety!
Buses – School & Public Transport Options
Catching a bus? Here’s what you need to know:
Bus services are provided by local transport companies and public transport.
Parents/caregivers must arrange bus passes and timetables directly with the bus provider.
School staff supervise bus departures to ensure student safety.
Students must follow all staff directions while waiting for and boarding the bus.
Misbehaviour on the bus or at bus stops can result in loss of bus access and school consequences.
Buses only stop at designated school bus zones – no exceptions!
Respect the Journey – Transport Code of Conduct
Four key principles for safe travel:
Be safe & sensible – Respect others and ensure a smooth journey.
Respect people & property – Look after your belongings and school/community facilities.
Listen to the driver – Follow directions without argument.
Take care of your surroundings – No damage to buses, stops, or shelters.
Remember – Your Behaviour Represents SCSHS!
While travelling to and from school, students are expected to follow the Springfield Central SHS Student Code of Conduct. Whether you’re in uniform or identifiable as a student, always show respect, responsibility, and resiliencein your journey.
No matter how you travel – stay safe, be courteous, and represent our school with pride!
