Dear parents/caregivers,
Thank you for your patience while the details of this event have been pivoted to reflect the current health
directives and uncertainty of this current time. As per the last update sent Tuesday 10 August, the
Springer Progress Conversations have been rescheduled for Wednesday 1 September 2021 from 12.30-
7pm. While we would prefer to be able to offer in-person interviews for this event, current health
directives do not allow for it. As such, our Springer Progress Conversations for Semester 2 will be
conducted via phone.
Change of hours for Wednesday 1 September
As we have done in the past, to support these conversations, the school day will be shortened and
students will be dismissed from school at 12pm. The normal school day will be compressed into CARE,
period 1 and period 2 with a short morning tea break to be held between them (see table below). Bell
times will be adjusted for the day.
CARE class 9:00-9:10am
Period 1 9:10-10:20
Morning Tea 10:20-10:50
Period 2 10:50-12:00
The school would appreciate parent/ carer support in making alternate arrangements for students to
make their way home on this day. Where parents are unable to make arrangements, supervision will be
available in the school library between 12:00-3:00pm at parent request by Monday 30 August 3pm.
Students with the permission and ability to do so must return straight home. Students are NOT permitted
to attend Orion Shopping Centre or any associated areas. Orion Centre Management and Queensland
Police have been notified of these conditions. Please be advised that normal lessons will not occur in this
time and students will be expected to work independently on study or homework, if they remain at
school. Parent requests must be emailed to ParentTeacherInterviews@springfieldcentralshs.eq.edu.au.
Regular school bus services will continue on the day after 3pm.
Booking your Progress Conversations
The booking system for this new round of Springer Progress Conversations will go live at 5pm Monday 16
August and remain open until midday Saturday 28 August. Please note that if you previously booked a
progress conversation, this will not be automatically reflected and all families will need to rebook
appointments. We apologise for this inconvenience.
