Dear Parents/Carers
I am writing to highlight two changes to the school calendar occurring next week – August 30 – September 3rd ( Week 8).
Our Springer Progress Conversations were rescheduled due to the COVID 19 lockdown to Wednesday, September 1 from 12.30 – 7.00pm.
As per previous correspondence, the school day will finish at 12.00pm. Students will attend CARE, Period 1 and 2 and the canteen will be open from 10.20 – 10.50am.
If you would like your student to remain at school please email ParentTeacherInterviews@springfieldcentralshs.eq.edu.au by Tuesday, 31 August. It is important to note that students are expected to go straight home if not staying at school. They will not be able to attend Orion Shopping Centre unless they are accompanied by a parent between 12-3pm on this day. Centre Management have been notified.
There is still the opportunity for parents/carers to make appointments up until 12.00pm Saturday 28 August using this link https://eq.sobs.com.au/pt3/parent.php?schoolid=70383 Due to COVID restrictions the Springfield Progress Conversations will take place over the telephone. Teachers will ring parents at the scheduled interview time. The original letter sent to families can be found on the school website for further information.
The other change to next week is Friday, September 3, which is a STUDENT FREE DAY for all Queensland state schools and as such the school will be closed. School staff will engage in professional learning activities including Confirmation of Year 12 assessment pieces with the Queensland Curriculum Assessment Authority (QCAA).
Please note the school administration office will not be open on Friday, September 3.
Any questions please don't hesitate to contact your year level Deputy Principal or Head of Year via phone 3470 6222 or email admin@springfieldcentralshs@eq.edu.au
Yours truly
Anne Lawson
