March 2, 2022
Dear parents and caregivers
Our school will be open tomorrow Thursday, March 3 with classes resuming as normal. Whilst this is good news, I would like to remind everyone to stay safe.
If the impact of this weather event poses a danger to your student travelling to and from school advise us of your student/s absence using this email address – absences@springfieldcentralshs.eq.edu.au
Please be aware that absences due to emergencies and natural disasters will not be recorded on a student's report card. Please regularly check the school closures website https://closures.qld.edu.au. This site will be updated on a daily basis.
I would also advise that you check with the relevant bus company if your student catches public transport to see if they are providing transport to and from Springfield Central SHS. https://translink.com.au/travel-with-us/school-travel
If you have any concerns or require additional support, please contact the school on admin@springfieldcentralshs.eq.edu.au or 3470 6222.
We will continue to provide information to families, via school website, Facebook, email, text message as it becomes available. There are also many excellent resources on the Queensland Government Get Ready Queensland website https://www.getready.qld.gov.au/ that serve as a checklist for our homes, travel arrangements and our personal safety.
Thank you for your ongoing support and please stay safe.
Yours truly
Anne Lawson
Principal
