Students at Springfield Central have the opportunity to represent the school in various sporting teams. Interschool Sport is played on Tuesday afternoons (after school) against schools from the Yagera District. The Yagera District comprises of ourselves, Redbank Plains SHS, Woodcrest College, Forest Lake SHS and Glenala SHS. Sports are split into two seasons, Summer and Winter, and cater for the wide variety of students at our school.

Games start by 3:40pm in the afternoon and are finished by 4:30pm. The season is played across 8 weeks, in a Home & Away format. The District winners playoff in the Metropolitan Finals competition against the best schools in Brisbane.
The three major carnivals (Swimming, Cross Country and Track & Field Athletics), are also competed within the Yagera District throughout the year.
Students also have the opportunity to play representative school sport (District, Region, State) through the school and we have a number of elite athletes who have represented the Metropolitan West Region, as well as Queensland.
