Parent and Teacher Interviews have been scheduled for Wednesday 13 August 2025 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. The purpose of these conversations is to allow staff, parents and students to connect and communicate post Semester 1 reporting.
As in previous years, to facilitate these important conversations, the school day will be shortened for our Junior school students (Years 7–9), who will finish at the end of Period 3 on this day (1:20 pm). The school day will remain unchanged for our Senior school students (Years 10–12) as they already have early release on Wednesdays.
We kindly request your support in making alternative arrangements for your child(ren) to return home on this day. For parents who are unable to make such arrangements, supervision will be available in the school library during Period 4 (1:50–3:00 pm) upon request by Monday, 11 August, at 10:00 am. Please note that normal lessons will not be conducted during this time, and students who remain at school will be expected to work independently on their studies or homework. Parent requests for supervision should be emailed to ParentTeacherInterviews@springfieldcentralshs.eq.edu.au. Regular school bus services will continue as usual after 3:00 pm.
Please be advised that students who have permission to leave school grounds at 1:20 pm are expected to proceed directly home. Students should not be found at Orion Shopping Centre or its surroundings without parental supervision. The local community, including Orion and Springfield Police, have been notified of this expectation.
Parent and Teacher Interviews: Afternoon/Evening Schedule and Bookings
Interviews will be held in the Springfield Central Sports and Community Hall. On this day, teachers will be available for interviews for a duration of 9 minutes with a 1 minute transition time between interviews to facilitate safe movement within the hall. Teachers will be unavailable for interviews between 3.50 – 4.10pm. The last interview which can be booked is 5:50pm.
As the purpose of Parent and Teacher Interviews is to allow staff, parents and students to connect and communicate, students are encouraged to attend scheduled interviews.
If you are unavailable during this time but still wish to seek an update from your student’s teacher/s, please make direct contact with the teacher/s via email.
In addition to interviews with teaching staff, information stands will be set up in the hall to allow parents to seek clarification/assistance from key staff manning these stands. These stands are:
- Senior Schooling - For parents wanting more information in regards to Senior Schooling including ATAR, AARAs, QCE, External courses and support services
- Student wellbeing and support
- International School - Homestay
- School Defence Mentor
- QParents – supporting families to make their QParents account active. Bring your identification to assist with ensuring the process can be completed.
Parent and Teacher Interviews are an important process to allow parents and teaching staff to partner together and help students accurately reflect on their progress to date, set learning goals to maximise their engagement and build positive relationships which will support them through the rest of the year.
